About

The purpose of the Initiative is to advance the ideals of the Declaration, defend individual liberty, and share inspiration from our founders and those who led in the Civil-Rights movement. This initiative, co-founded by a Guatemalan-immigrant turned U.S. citizen, along with a longtime Ohio resident and father of four, aims to reach every school district with the principles of equality, liberty, and justice for all.

We believe that unity can still be found in the aims of the Declaration of Independence. It is a conscious/intentional decision as to whether we progress forward and better live out the goals of the Declaration, or whether we will allow our differences to destroy the cornerstone to this exercise in democracy. Here’s the former slave who became the voice of the abolitionists before and during the Civil War, Frederick Douglass:

“I have said that the Declaration of Independence is the ring-bolt to the chain of your nation’s destiny; so, indeed, I regard it. The principles contained in that instrument are saving principles. Stand by those principles, be true to them on all occasions, in all places, against all foes, and at whatever cost.”
